GEARHART - Blue Gallery an-nounces a fall exhibit by Cris Walla.

Walla's paintings are mini-epics just slightly smaller than your standard sofa. His realistic style was honed from years of study in Denmark, as the systematic order of his pieces can attest. His homage to pop art is both humorous and unnerving.

Walla's "15 Coffee Pots" should wake anyone in a slumber of aesthetic indifference. His ode to the morning ritual practices around the world reminds people to use fewer paper cups. Walla has also included a surprise peek into his studio via the reflective surfaces.

Ken and Barbie get a makeover in Walla's two paintings "Kenneth" and "Barbara." It's laugh-out-loud inspiration for those willing to make the trip to Gearhart.

Blue Gallery, 95 S. Cottage, is open some hours, most days. For more information, call (503) 738-9883.
