SEASIDE - The Brownsmead Flats bring their "community folk music" to Seaside from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4 in Quatat Park on the Necanicum River between Broadway and the Seaside Convention Center. This performance is the last of seven public concerts presented by Northwest Performing Arts in its 2004 summer concert series, "Seaside, Where the Stars Play!" In case of rain, the performance will be held at the Seaside Theater, 816 N. Holladay.

The five-member group has been performing their unique style of music for nearly 20 years. They play a variety of instruments and have two recordings to their credit. "Potluck" was produced in 1996, followed by "Rain" in 1999. The CDs will be on sale at the concert, and include many favorite songs including "Papa's on the Housetop," "Waltzing with Bears" and "The Happy Song."

Northwest Performing Arts welcomes new members and encourages suggestions for future events. For information, call (503) 738-7409 or e-mail ashaffer@seasurf.net
