In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, the Women's Resource Center will light the Domestic Violence candle at 7:30 a.m. (sunrise) Friday, Oct. 24 at the Astoria Column.

The candlelight vigil will be there throughout the day and evening for remembrance and to keep the flame burning for those who have survived and those who have died.

People may bring flowers, wreaths, stuffed animals and candles to represent the hundreds and thousands of women, children and men whose lives have been touched by violence. People are also invited to offer personal testimony beginning at sunset in honor of self, family and friends. For more information call the Women's Resource Center at (503) 325-3426.
