Warrenton - There's free fishing and free park entry at Fort Stevens State Park in Warrenton Saturday and Sunday for the 16th annual Free Fishing Weekend. Neither fishing licenses nor day-use parking passes will be required Saturday and Sunday at Oregon state parks visited by Free Fishing Weekend participants.

In addition to Fort Stevens, participating parks with access to fishing include Champoeg, Milo McIver and Willamette Mission in the Portland-Salem area; Benson and Dabney in the Columbia River Gorge; Detroit Lake in the central Oregon Cascades; Jasper and the Winberry day-use area of Fall Creek State Recreation Area in the Eugene-Springfield vicinity; Tou Velle near Medford; The Cove Palisades, Smith Rock and Tumalo in Central Oregon; Farewell Bend in Eastern Oregon; and Jessie Honeyman and Nehalem Bay on the Oregon Coast.

Day-use passes will still be required at Oregon Parks and Recreation Department day-use fee areas that do not offer access to fishing.
