Clatsop Community College announces its annual art show for noncredit students, which runs Sunday Aug. 29, through Thursday, Sept. 2 at the main campus Art Gallery in Astoria. Featured this year are students from longtime CCC instructor Jean Barney's Personal Enrichment Oil Painting class. Her students range from 20 to 80-plus years old and are at all stages of skill level development.

Offered for people who want to learn and try new things, but who do not need college credit, personal enrichment classes are taught by qualified artisans and professionals who want to share their expertise. "Our first show was delightfully successful, and we have continued this annual event as a wonderful opportunity to showcase the incredible talent of our students and the expertise of our instructors," Continuing Education Dean Kitty Paino said. "This is truly art from the heart."

The show will be open from 1 to 4 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. A reception open to the public for the artists is 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 29. For information about the show or directions to the gallery, call the Continuing Education department at Clatsop Community College, (503) 338-2408.
