CANNON BEACH - The Cannon Beach Chorus presents its second annual weekend of Gershwin-inspired concerts June 25-27. The 30-voice chorus will be joined by Don Conway's String of Pearls band and pianist David Carlson.

Titled "Fascinatin' Rhythms," the concert will be presented at 7 p.m. Friday, June 25 at the Cannon Beach Community Presbyterian Church, 132 E. Washington St. in Cannon Beach, 7 p.m. Saturday, June 26 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 320 First Ave. in Seaside and 3 p.m. Sunday, June 27 at the Nehalem Bay Methodist Church, 10th and A streets in Nehalem. Prepurchased tickets are $8, with children 12 and younger free. Tickets at the door will be $10.

The program is a lively combination of choral, instrumental, duet and solo performances. Most are fresh renditions of such favorites as "I Got Rhythm," "Someone to Watch Over Me" and "Summertime." But the lineup also offers rarities like "A Corner of Heaven," an unpublished Gershwin gem discovered by Carlson and sung by String of Pearls vocalist Connie Anne Conway.

The String of Pearls sextet will perform several other numbers and provide rhythm and horn support throughout the program.
