The Ear had heard some buzz about a FILM CREW being in the area filming the COAST GUARD. Yup, it’s true.

Lt. Cmdr. BRENDA WHITE, the local project officer, referred the Ear to Chief Warrant Officer DANA WARR of the Coast Guard Motion Picture and Television Office in Los Angeles for some answers.

“We began supporting filming with AL ROKER ENTERTAINMENT in February,” CWO Warr told the Ear. No, Al Roker himself is not here, and hasn’t been. “We have been working with ARE since about 2010 on Coast Guard Alaska and Florida,” he explained, “and have enjoyed the opportunity to collaborate with the entertainment industry.” Both shows are on the Weather Channel. So far, there’s no official name for the new project.

“They intend to film throughout the area,” he added, “showcasing the men, women and diverse missions of the Thirteenth Coast Guard District.” The Ear will let you know when there are more details.
