More volunteers than ever before are needed to make the 2003 Astoria-Warrenton Crab and Seafood Festival a success, according to Regina Willkie of the Astoria-Warrenton Area Chamber of Commerce. "The festival succeeds because of the extraordinary efforts put forth by our many volunteers each year," said Willkie. The size of the festival has expanded in its new location at the Clatsop County Fairgrounds, and many additional opportunities are available for groups to volunteer together.

Several organizations offer "extra credit" to their employees or members who put volunteer time into the community, Willkie added. If you as an individual or group would like to help at the festival April 25-27, call Willkie at the Chamber of Commerce, 325-6311, or e-mail
