ST. HELENS - The Oregon State University Columbia County Master Gardeners hold their annual Garden Fair and Plant Sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 24 at the St. Helens High School Commons, 2375 Gable Road. Tomato plants will be featured for $1 each - all of the standard favorites are promised, as well as several heirloom varieties. Nelson's Nursery in Warren and Shaft's Farm in Scappoose, both owned by Master Gardeners, will provide the homegrown starts. Local vendors will sell garden-related items, and information will be available for growing roses, fuchsias, rhodies, wildflowers, and, of course, tomatoes. Master Gardeners will offer a plant clinic.

Raffle tickets cost $1 for prizes such as garden carts, pruners, sprayers, gloves, planters and bird houses. Area nurseries also have pitched in with gift certificates.
