The Columbia River Maritime Museum offers a free course on the maritime history of the Pacific Northwest, "Past to Present: Columbia River Maritime History."

The eight-week course meets from 10 a.m. to noon Tuesdays beginning Jan. 20. The museum is recruiting new volunteers, and the class is designed specifcally with new volunteers in mind. Those interested in becoming more familiar with the museum as a historical resource are also welcome.

Those interested in attending should register by Jan. 16 by calling Volunteer Coordinator Cynthia Svensson at (503) 325-2323.
