On Feb. 22, Crossfit 1811 participated in an annual nationwide Crossfit event, 22 Workout Of the Day (WOD) to End Veteran Suicide, which brings together Crossfit boxes, gyms and fitness centers from around the country to raise awareness of veteran-related issues and suicide prevention.

Each gym creates 22 exercises for 22 repetitions each. At minute 22 into the workout, all gyms pause for a moment of silence to remember those service members and veterans who have lost their battle with depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

Funds raised by the event support the Service Animal Assistance Program and Honor & Courage Programs through Operation Ward 57, a nonprofit organization in Seattle that serves the nation’s wounded, ill and injured.
