Families in Clatsop County are invited to attend Astoria Parks and Recreation’s free community swim day, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 13 at the Astoria Aquatic Center. The event celebrates water safety, along with the U.S. Coast Guard and the Astoria Parks, Recreation and Community Foundation.

Free swim day offers families the resources needed to teach children and individuals the importance of water and boat safety, along with opportunities for health and wellness provided by the Astoria Parks and Recreation Department.

Families with children under the age of 8 who intend on spending time in the pool are expected to accompany their children in the pool. Families will also have an opportunity to learn about scholarships available for swim lessons and Astoria Parks and Recreation memberships.
