In recognition of Martin Luther King’s birthday, a work party is being held from 9 a.m. to noon Jan. 15 at the Astoria Warming Center in the First United Methodist Church, 1076 Franklin Ave. Come to the side door on 11th Street. A pizza feed for the participants at the Blue Scorcher Bakery and Cafe follows the work party; pizza is also being donated for the people staying at the warming center that evening. Everyone is invited to participate.
