The American Red Cross offers a 16-hour training course for those wishing to become cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid instructors Nov. 15 and 16.

The course will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both days, and registration is required by Nov. 12. Applicants must hold current Red Cross CPR and first aid cards.

Completion of the instructor course will qualify participants to teach American Red Cross CPR, first aid and Automated External Defibrillator classes anywhere in the United States. Candidates should have solid communication skills and enjoy working with the public. Businesses wishing to have their own CPR and first aid trainer should consider enrolling an associate in the course, according to Clatsop County Red Cross Director Julie Flues.
