The Astoria Chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution will hold their next meeting at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Hong Kong Restaurant in Astoria. President General Linda Tinker Watkins will be the guest. Following the meeting, members and guests will meet at 2 p.m. at the Custom House in Astoria to plant a seedling from the Minute Man Maple in Concord, Mass.

Members are still collecting children's books for two local hospitals.

Marilyn Smith and Kathleen Zimmer of Ocean Park, Wash., and Libbie Allen of Cannon Beach are the chapter's newest members.

Carlotta Strandberg, Evelyn Laughman, Rebecca Glen and Sue Glen will be the chapter's delegates to the Oregon State Society DAR Conference at the Resort at the Mountain in Welches, May 13 to 16.
