CANNON BEACH - Time is running out to see all three of the Coaster Theatre's summer shows, offering three different plays each week guaranteed to make audiences laugh, cheer or tremble in their seats, depending on the show.

"Moon over Buffalo" tells the story of a family theater troupe staging two plays in repertory. After a lot of confusion and a fair amount of wine, the plays end up being performed simultaneously, with disastrous results for the players and nonstop laughs for the audience. "Moon over Buffalo" plays Thursday and Friday, Sept. 2 and 3.

The award-winning musical, "Honk!" follows the adventures of a big, ugly duckling trying to make his way back home to the barnyard. Pursued by a conniving cat and aided by a squadron of geese, he learns about love and differences. The final performance of "Honk!" is Saturday, Sept. 4. Evo, Cannon Beach's cooking school, located half a block from the theater, is offering a dinner and theater package for the final performance. For information, call Evo at (503) 436-8555.

In Ira Levin's popular play, "Deathtrap," a failing playwright shows his wife a manuscript by one of his students - a fabulous thriller, better than anything he could do. Hijinks follow, unsurpassed for intricacy and sheer good fun, not to mention the bloodstains. "Deathtrap" plays Sunday, Sept. 5, and closes the season with performances Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 10, 11 and 12.

All shows start at 8 p.m. except for Sunday performances, which begin at 7 p.m. Doors open half an hour before performance time. For reservations or information, call the box office at (503) 436-1242 from 1 to 8 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday.
