Sea lions have prevailed over the Port of Astoria in the fourth round of a battle for control of the East End Mooring Basin.
The wily pinnipeds shrugged off the Port’s air dancers to remain undefeated and stay on the docks.
The air dancers were a creative choice for the Port, which had previously tried electrified mats, beach balls and a fake orca to dislodge the hungry mammals.
The sea lions have been barking joyously after their latest victory.
The Port now hopes that railings welded by Knappa High School students will be an effective deterrent.
