CANNON BEACH - Handmade and handpainted vessels with whimsical sculptural elements by Lisa Scroggins are now part of the display at Primary Elements Gallery, 172 N. Hemlock St. in Cannon Beach.

Gallery owner Stephanie Ansley said Scroggins' works are meticulously painted with four to five layers of underglaze in various colors and patterns, then fired and coated with clear commerical glaze rated dinnerware safe. Most pieces are limited editions, often one-of-a-kind, as each piece is hand sculpted by the artist.

Scroggins' ceramics feature lizards, frogs, octopi, chameleons, fish and birds, and will be showcased at the Spring Unveiling April 29-May 1. Special orders and a variety of colors and graphic pattern details are welcome. Prices range from $150 to $1,200 depending on size and detail. For information, call (866) 871-0220.
