Slide into some aquatic fun at the Astoria Aquatic Center from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday, during the Free Community Swim Day. Enjoy the center's 105 foot water slide as well as the pool, the lazy river, the hot tub, the children's pool and the weight room.

The center is open to all residents and area visitors.

State Representative Betsy Johnson is sponsoring the Aquatic Center's three hours of free use.

The Friends of the Aquatic Center Group recently held an event on May 15 at the center in which they raised over $5,000 to help support future improvements at the facility. Along with the event, they sold raffle tickets for a chance to win a trip to Disneyland for a family of four. The winner of the Disneyland package will be announced at 3 p.m. during the Free Community Swim Day.

The next Free Community Swim Day will be July 4, sponsored by Dr. Kevin Baxter.
