Friday Musical Club (FMC) of Astoria completed its 105th season with an open concert May 4 to benefit its music lesson scholarship program for students in Clatsop and Pacific (Wash.) countries. 

In addition to adult members, eight scholarship recipients performed, including: Clarice Homer, cello, Astoria Middle School; Charlotte Rotelle, flute, Warrenton Grade School; Miguel Velasco, violin, Astoria High School; Dakota Adams, tenor, AHS; Kailey Anderson, piano, Ilwaco (Wash.) High School; Jonathan Williams, viola, AHS; Michael Gann, oboe, Seaside High School; and Daphné Gann, flute, SHS. 

The purpose of the club is to further musical development, and the club plans to offer music lesson scholarships again next fall. Scholarships are funded by donations, membership dues, and a grant from the Patricia Friedland Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation. 

Friday Musical Club is affiliated with Astoria High School Scholarships Inc. and donors to the scholarship fund will receive a tax receipt if checks are made to AHSSI/FMC Fund. Donations can be mailed to FMC, in care of Kate Darling, 3708 Irving Ave., Astoria, OR 97103.
