• The Berry Botanic Garden in Portland offers a class on "Winter Twig Identification." Carolyn Devine teaches you how to identify native deciduous trees and shrubs. The session is 10 a.m. to noon. • The Hardy Plant Society of Oregon hosts "Winter: The Forgotten Season." Sean Hogan, Larry Stanley and Janice Leinwebber offer a day of discussion about winter interest perennials, broad-leaf evergreens, use of conifers, care for and variety of heaths and heathers, and zonal denial.
