The Berry Botanic Garden in Portland offers a class on "Winter Twig Identification." Carolyn Devine teaches you how to identify native deciduous trees and shrubs. The session is 10 a.m. to noon. The Hardy Plant Society of Oregon hosts "Winter: The Forgotten Season." Sean Hogan, Larry Stanley and Janice Leinwebber offer a day of discussion about winter interest perennials, broad-leaf evergreens, use of conifers, care for and variety of heaths and heathers, and zonal denial.
