Upcoming and ongoing• The Sunset Orchid Society presents their 7th Annual Fall Show & Sale, "Dreaming of Orchids." The event runs 1 to 5 .m. Saturday, Oct. 4 and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5. It's held at the Broadway School, 1120 Broadway, Seaside. Admission is $2 and seniors are $1. Refreshments are free. Orchid repotting will be available for a small fee.

• The Clatsop County Master Gardeners and the Clatsop County/OSU Extension Service hold a free seminar on the "ABC's of Garden Design" Oct. 11. The session, which runs from 1 to 4 p.m., is free and open to a limited number of participants. Topics will include planning, renovating an established landscape, elements and principles of design and plant selection. Please bring measurements of an existing area you would like to learn how to design. All participants must register with the Extension Office by calling 325-8573.
