The Clatsop County Genealogical Society meets at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 8, in the Flag Room of the Astoria Public Library, 450 10th St.

The society hosts a program by Doug Sailor, a resident of Morgan Hill, California and South Bend, Wash. Sailor's topic is "Researching and Documenting Your Family History." He will describe several methods and resources for developing individual family histories, and will provide an outline of how to write the text for your own family history and how to prepare a family tree using standard computer programs. He will also share examples of his own published 300-page family history. His wife's family history traces back to 100 A.D. Sailor's family genealogy has been an ongoing project for 25 years. The program will begin at 10:15 a.m. and is open to the public.
