The Ear wants to get the word out about HELP-PORTRAIT (, which provides an opportunity for those who would love to have a professional portrait photo taken of themselves or their family for Christmas, but who can’t afford it.

Help-Portrait is a movement of photographers who are using their time, equipment and expertise to give back to those who are less fortunate. A local photographer will be available to take portraits for those in need from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at 175 14th St., Suite 100. Afterwards a print will be given, at no cost.

The local event was mobilized by photographer JODY PATTERSON MORRILL, who “found out about it online, and wanted to make it happen for our town.”
