The Astoria Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Friends of Fort Stevens will conduct a Flag Retirement ceremony for old, worn and tattered American flags at 1 p.m. Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11, in the historical area at Fort Stevens.

People wishing to have their flags properly retired are encouraged to drop them in the box in the lobby of the "B" entrance of Fred Meyer or at the Seaside Historical Society. You may also bring your flag to Fort Stevens on Veterans Day if you wish to attend the ceremony.

For more information, call any DAR member or Regent Sue Glen at (503) 861-0574.
