Kim Angelis and Josef Gault perform on violin and guitar at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 at the Clatsop Community College Performing Arts Center, 16th Street and Franklin Avenue.
Angelis is a classical, world and folk music composer/performer. From Alaska to Ancud, Chile, and over the Pacific Ocean to Asia, Angelis has performed for international concert audiences. Her music was highlighted on NBC's world-wide coverage of the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, and her music has been nominated for independent music awards. In August 2002, Angelis was voted Best Musician by the readers of her hometown newspaper, the Calaveras Enterprise.
She is accompanied by her husband, flamenco-inspired guitarist Josef "The Wild Hungarian" Gault, in the tradition of Manitas dePlata. They are currently on the juried Arts Northwest Touring Roster.
Angelis now calls Astoria home. She and Gault are restoring a classic 1925 Craftsman bungalow.
Tickets are $15 for general admission, $10 for students and seniors and $8 for children younger than 12.
