Hilda Lahti School is one of 12 high schools and 16 middle schools receiving recognition as a school with a high achieving student council. The award, sponsored by the Oregon Association of Student Councils, is given to student councils that are involved in school and community service, activities to promote school spirit, pride, sportsmanship, student and staff recognition, and participate in leadership training and sound practices.

The schools will be recognized at the annual spring conference, which will be held in Eugene Sunday and Monday.
