ILWACO, Wash. - Last year, a tradition was revived after more than 40 years of quiet Ilwaco skies - Independence Day was celebrated with brilliant colors and booming thunder as fireworks lit up the sky over the river.

This year, look for more of the same safe family fun with even more festivities offered at the Port of Ilwaco Saturday, July 3. Fireworks are scheduled for after dark, but activities will be ongoing all day such as the Saturday Market, Ilwaco stores and boutiques, a live band beginning at 5 p.m., restaurants and a salmon barbecue. No personal fireworks are permitted.
