“Ninety-three-year-old FRED ANTILLA, a lifetime resident of Uniontown, dedicated his portrait to the ASTORIA AMERICAN LEGION last Sunday,” DAVE KINNEY told the Ear. “It was celebrated by his friends with a wonderful party.”

“Fred hired the Beach Buddies little big band, and the Legion and its members provided a buffet complete with cake,” he continued. “Fred presented the portrait to the Legion Commander MIKE PHILLIPS and Adjutant GORDON TREBER.”

Mike commented during the dedication that Fred is the nicest, most honorable man he’s ever met, and he was honored to receive the portrait, Dave reported.

“Besides being a house painter, Fred was a musician and an excellent dancer and now his portrait will overlook the bandstand and dance floor,” he added. “Artist LOUISE WALKER explained the painting Fred consigned her to create. She did an excellent job capturing the gleam in Fred’s eyes.”
