The North Coast Symphonic Band begins its 23rd season with weekly rehearsals starting at 7 p.m. Monday, Sept. 27 at the Clatsop Community College Performing Arts Center, 16th Street and Franklin Avenue. This community band performs traditional band music in concert seven times a year in the local area. The first concert will be Sunday, Nov. 21, and will feature the music of John Philip Sousa and his contemporaries.

Musicians range in age from teens to retirees and in ability from serious students of music to music professionals. There is currently a need for musicians who play French horn, clarinet, trumpet or percussion, with limited openings in other sections of the band. Call Dennis Hale at (503) 325-3891 or Janet Bowler at (503) 325-2431 for more information.
