Clatsop Community College's Arts and Ideas program presents the Daniel Swerdloff exhibit, "Dual Forces of Nature," featuring a presentation by Swerdloff at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 1 during the opening reception at Art Center Gallery, 17th Street and Lexington Avenue in Astoria. Admission is free.

The exhibit runs through May 2.

Swerdloff, a prolific painter and lithographer, was born in New York City in 1928. He studied in the Art Students League, at New York University School of Fine Arts, and at Cooper Union School of Art. He has traveled extensively and lived in Mexico, France, Sweden and Spain.

He has had numerous exhibitions, and his work is in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, Emily Lowe Art Museum in Miami, Mansfield University in Pennsylvania, Horace Richter and Theodor Guston.

He has worked in several lithography workshops including the Blackburn Graphic Workshop and the International Graphic Artists Society, both in New York City.
