CANNON BEACH - Local artists Sean Ohrenich, Marilyn Rooper and Elizabeth Serreau show their most recent work Sept. 3 through 27 at the nonprofit Cannon Beach Gallery, 1064 S. Hemlock St. The public is welcome to join the artists at a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 4.

Ohrenich works in wood, turning and carving vessels of depth and imagination. Manipulating the natural features of various woods, he often combines color, in the form of dyes, with texture and form.

Rooper has practiced calligraphy for more than 30 years. Her work combines calligraphic treatment of carefully chosen verse and text with original imagery.

Serreau paints and draws from nature, taking inspiration from the Pacific Northwest coast. Her vignettes capture the spirit of place in rich color and texture.

The Cannon Beach Gallery is open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday through Monday. For information, call (503) 436-0744 or e-mail info@cannonbeacharts.org
