Spring is in the air. Every year around Valentine’s Day DAWN PALMER’s parents spend their anniversary in Seaside for a weekend getaway. Since 2010, Dawn and her fiance, JOHN WALKER, have tagged along. The couple are pictured.

“I had been thinking of proposing to Dawn and just waiting for the perfect time,” John told the Ear. “I decided this was it, Valentine’s weekend – her parents would be there, it was perfect.”

Dawn suggested they bring their clubs and go golfing, so John worked that into his proposal strategy. However, he was a little anxious, and got a speeding ticket driving to the coast. “I didn’t let it bother me too much, though, since I had bigger fish to fry,” he reported.

After arriving, the couple decided to check out the Seaside Golf Course. “My plan was to wait for an opportunity to use the ring as a ball marker for her ball, so when she picked it up she would see the ring,” John explained. “I didn’t have to wait too long because it happened on the second hole.”

“It was an awesome day,” he added. “Perfect weather for February, and it was fun to finish the last seven holes together as an engaged couple.”
