From bassoons to spoons, from oboes to banjos, this month's "Troll Radio Review" is a mix of classical and whimsical from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 27.

The Jeffersonians, a chamber orchestra, will play melodies tailored to tiny tots. Kids can "Meet The Woodwinds" Who knew those double reeds could make such silly sounds? House band the Beerman Creek String Band opens the festivities and the blues of Johnny Kat round out the program.

There's more. The hour wouldn't be complete without the humor of Mr. Troll, the radio comedy-drama of the Troll Theater Troupe and the "Thousand Thanks Award." Emcee Debbie Twombly from KMUN leads the show to its lively grand finale, when all the musicians join in.

Troll Radio Review is a family-friendly variety hour performed before a live audience at the River Theater, 230 W. Marine Drive, and broadcast on KMUN-FM.

It's free for kids. Admission for adults is $1 donation.
