CANNON BEACH - Mystery fans, beach buffs and storm watchers will enjoy a "Mid-Winter Mystery Weekend" in Cannon Beach, Friday through Sunday, Jan. 30-Feb. 1. The festivities are sponsored by The Ocean Lodge, Cannon Beach Book Company and the Cannon Beach Gallery Group.

Four separate events are featured. A cocktail reception at 6 p.m. Friday, Jan. 30 at the Chamber of Commerce includes appetizers and beverages. From 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, seven mystery authors will sign their books at seven different venues: Donna Anders at Jeffrey Hull Gallery, Mary daheim at Bronze Coast Gallery, Deborah Donnelly at Artists Gallerie, Robert Ferrigno at Cannon Beach Book Company, April Henry at Rhodes Stringfellow Gallery, Candace Robb at DragonFire Interactive Gallery and Jess Walter at Haystack Gallery. A four-course dinner Saturday evening at the Surfsand Resort features a staged Sherlock Holmes mystery, "Murder at Mystery Moor." At 11 a.m. Sunday, authors and guests will gather at the Coaster Theatre Playhouse to listen to readings and remarks by the authors, followed by a question and answer session.
