Oregon’s Outstanding Teen Competition is open to female contestants ages 13 to 17. This program is the teen division of the Miss Oregon Scholarship Organization, an affiliate of the Miss America Organization. Miss Oregon Outstanding Teen promotes scholastic achievement, creative accomplishment, healthy living and community involvement.

In preparation for the competition, all contestants will attend a Pageant Camp workshop being held May 17 to 19 in Seaside. The registration deadline is May 10. This will be a concentrated workshop aimed at helping each participant build success skills, including how to fill out scholarship applications, interview skills and techniques, health tips, grooming and makeup demonstrations.

The winner of the Miss Oregon’s Outstanding Teen Program receives a $2,000 college scholarship and other scholarship opportunities, plus an additional $1,000 for competing at Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant 2013; a professional photo shoot for autograph pictures to be used throughout your year; an all-expense-paid trip to Orlando, Fla., for The Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant; personal training; gifts from sponsors; Miss America’s Outstanding Teen competition clothing; a talent coach before Miss America’s Outstanding Teen; and jewelry for daily wear and competition.

To become the 2013 Miss Oregon’s Outstanding Teen, a contestant must compete at the upcoming state pageant scheduled for the week of June 26, with the crowning on June 29 in Seaside.

Princess Camp, which is designed for girls ages 5 to 12, will be held from June 25-29 in conjunction with Miss Oregon Pageant Week. The camp is for girls who are looking to improve upon skills that promote self-confidence and poise and find mentoring from today’s young teen leaders, and space is limited.

Participants will have the opportunity to attend professional workshops taught by leaders in their fields, learn and perform a production number during the Miss Oregon Competition Show and get “crowned” on-stage by Miss Oregon and Miss Oregon’s Outstanding Teen. One lucky participant will take the stage at the national competition Aug 13 to 17 in Orlando.
