The Liberty Theater presents auditions for a Missoula Children's Theatre production, "Red Riding Hood," at 10 a.m. Monday, July 8. Children ages 6 to 14 are invited to audition.
Missoula Children's Theatre is the largest touring children's theater and has been touring for more than 29 years. The company will visit nearly 900 communities this year with 27 teams of tour actors and directors. A tour team arrives in a given town with a set, lights, costumes, props and make-up. The team holds an open audition and casts 50 to 60 local students to perform in the production. The show is rehearsed throughout the week and two public performances are presented to the community. All MCT shows are original adaptations of classic children's stories and fairy tales.
In "Red Riding Hood" Red Riding Hood and her preteen pals try to stay on the straight and narrow on the way to Grandma's house with help from the a not-so-bad big bad wolf, a forest ranger and locksmith. The Three Little Pigs and a Boy Who Cries Wolf also make an appearance.
Performances will be at 3 and 7 p.m. Saturday, July 13 at the Liberty Theater, 1203 Commercial St.
