Clatsop Community College continues to urge people interested in earning General Education Development (GED) credential to complete the testing process before the end of 2013.

A new test and process will be implemented in January, and any passing scores from the prior version of the GED test will then become null and void. Students will need to start the test process over.

The current GED testing process consists of a battery of five tests covering language arts writing, reading, social studies, science and math. Successful completion serves as the equivalent of a high school diploma.

Orientations for GED preparation classes for the current GED test are scheduled for Monday and Nov. 1.

Pre-registration for preparation classes is required. Call 503-338-2347 or stop by Columbia Hall Room 114, 1651 Lexington Ave. in Astoria. GED preparation classes are conducted in Astoria, Clatskanie and Seaside. Those already prepared and ready to test, can schedule testing at 503-338-2347.
