VERNONIA -Experience the life of the mountain man before 1840 at the Vernonia Muzzleloaders' Nehalem River Rendezvous Friday, Aug. 1 through Sunday, Aug. 4. Events start at 8 a.m. and continue throughout the day.
Events will include participants from all over the Pacific Northwest shooting with traditional muzzleloader rifles and throwing hawk and knife, while dressed in authentic period costumes. The event is free for those who want to observe the primitive camps, sit-in on the Saturday evening council fire or check out the Traders Row and Young'ns Outpost.
