A new chapter of the Red Hat Society, named Scarlette Shell Sea-kers, is forming in Seaside.

A "kick off" High Tea to celebrate the forming of the new chapter will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Lord Wicklow Tea Room in A Riverside Inn B&B located at 430 S. Holladay Drive, Seaside. Because of limited seating, reservations are necessary. Call Tita Montero at 738-7730 or 440-4454 for more information or to make a reservation.

Red hats will be available to borrow, if needed.

In other news, the Scarlette Shell Sea-kers, welcomes Red Hat ladies to participate in Seaside's Fourth of July Parade by riding on the Seaside Streetcar. The group boarding the streetcar will meet between 10:30 and 11 a.m. at the Seaside Historical Museum, Sixth Street and Necanicum Drive.

The Red Hat Society is a loosely formed international organization promoting friendship, fun and frivolity amongst women who are at least 50 years old. They wear red hats and purple clothing as a uniting theme.
