“Much to my delight the BLUE SCORCHER BAKERY received a rave review on a national (international?) radio show,” KRISTY SCHNABEL told the Ear. She heard the review on the National Public Radio program, THE SPLENDID TABLE, which aired on Oregon Public Broadcasting (www.splendidtable.org/episode/530).

Food critics MICHAEL and JANE STERN of www.roadfood.com, pictured in a photo by Todd France, found Astoria a “charming town” before noshing at the bakery. Michael loved the chocolate gingerbread, she loved the huevos scorcheros, and they both rhapsodized about the chocolate chip applesauce cake, among other menu item favorites.

“This is sure to bring some tourism to Astoria,” Kristy noted. Hungry tourists, the Ear suspects.
