The Philadelphia Church is hosting the 6th annual Oregon Gospel Singfest at the Philadelphia Church in Hammond from noon to 8 p.m. Aug. 14. Tickets are $10 in advance or $12 at the door. Tickets for seniors 60 and over are $8 in advance or $10 at the door. We have nine artists are performing: The Pierces, Envoy Quartet, Brenda Sowers, Heritage, The Wilson's, West Creek Harmony, The Green's and Dan Adkins. Dan is a songwriter and the former producer for the well known JD Sumner and the Stamps Quartet.

There will be a musical seminar from 5 to 9 p.m. Friday. The instructors will be Debora Jakola, vocal basics; The Green's, how to get started in music ministry; and Dan Adkins, songwriting and industry standards. The cost for the seminar is $30 per person. A dessert fellowship will follow.

There will also be an community choir that will be performing as well. Anyone who would like to be a part of the choir needs to be at the church at 10:30 a.m. Saturday. The choir will be directed by Dan Adkins.
