SOUTH BEND, Wash. - Local authors Ruth Allingham, Doug Allen, Irene Martin and Robert Pyle will be the guests of honor at the Pacific County Historical Society's annual Author's Day Event Saturday, Nov. 13. Book signing and conversations will start at 1 p.m. in the Society's museum at 1008 W. Robert Bush Drive. Light refreshments will be served. The program is free and open to the public.
Collectively, the authors appearing at this event have 18 books, plus many other articles and a couple of videos, to their credit. The range of topics includes oral history, ecology, maritime history, Bible study, logging and folklore. Recently published books available for sale at the event include "Shoalwater/Willapa" and "2005 World War II Airmen of Pacific County Calendar," by Doug Allen, "Seafire: Tales of Jesus and Fishing" and "Lewis and Clark in the Land of the Wahkiakums," by Irene Martin, "Walking the High Ridge: Life as a Field Trip," by Robert Pyle, and "Water Under the Bridge," "The Way It Was" and "Glimpses of the Past" by Ruth Allingham.
