Clatsop County residents can ride the bus for the price of a can of food Saturday as part of Make a Difference Day, a community partnership project sponsored by Altrusa International.

Sunset Empire Transportation District staff will be placing food collection barrels on all routes that day. Collection sites have been open all week at various businesses and public buildings throughout the county, and members of the North Oregon Coast chapter of Altrusa International will be delivering the food items to the Clatsop Community Action Food Bank warehouse Saturday.

Foods most in demand include tuna, peanut butter, soup, pasta, rice, boxed meals and canned goods. For information on Make a Difference Day or the Clatsop Food for All program, call Clatsop Community Action at 325-1400.
