SEASIDE - Best-selling author Jodi Thomas signs copies of her latest romance novel, "A Texan's Luck," from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday Nov. 21 at Trendwest, 100 S. Promenade.

A marriage and family counselor by education, Thomas has earned an impressive list of distinguished awards for her fiction writing. Her first book, "Beneath the Texas Sky," won the National Press Women's Novel of the Year in its category in 1988. She has won two RITAs, the romance publishing industry's equivalent of an Oscar, and has earned spots on the New York Times and USA Today best-seller lists.

The third in her popular "Wife Lottery" series, "A Texan's Luck" deals with Capt. Walker Larson and a beautiful stranger who walks into his office claiming to be his wife. Nearly three years later, he is ordered by the military to protect her from a killer. Despite their different lifestyles and expectations, they wonder if their marriage was a far better gamble than either of them had imagined.

Thomas' book signing is sponsored by A Whale of a Tale bookstore. For information, call (503) 717-1500.
