SEASIDE — Seaside Elks Lodge 1748 and Leading Knight Cindy Wolfe will present “Under the Sea, Celebrating Charity,” a fundraiser dinner Sept. 21 at the lodge, 324 Avenue A in Seaside.

The dinner choices are Larry Elliott’s barbecued salmon or prime rib, and seatings will be at 6 and 7 p.m. There will also be silent and live auctions, raffles, door prizes, music and dancing.

This semiformal event is open to the community. Tickets cost $15 per person, and the proceeds will go to scholarships and Seaside Food4Kids. To attend, RSVP on or before Wednesday by calling 503-738-6651.

On Saturday, Lodge 1748 hosted the NW District Deputy meeting, comprised of lodges from Astoria, Seaside, Tillamook, Lincoln City, Newport, Florence and St. Helens.

NW District Vice President Rich Evans, State Trustee Lanny Schultze and District Deputy Linda Cole attended, along with 50 Elk members. These meetings offer updates of laws, charitable activities, reports from committees and the opportunity to share ideas on how to serve the community.

Oregon State Elks are helping to fund the Oregon World War II Memorial. Approximately 152,000 Oregonians served in World War II and of those, 3,757 died. Seaside Lodge has raised $240 to support the project.
