‘Smiling all the time’

“On May 4, our family welcomed a beautiful baby boy into our family,” Laine Earls wrote. She and her husband, Chris, live in Astoria. “Ellis (pictured) was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate, which will require multiple surgeries throughout his life. Right now, we are making weekly trips to Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, which is 190 miles round trip, so we are asking for donations to help with gas and medical bills.”

Laine has set up a fundraiser page, “Ellis’ Cleft Journey,” to help with the expenses. You can help the family by donating at www.gofundme.com/acenes

Recently, his doctor added stents to start shaping Ellis’ nose. “He’s doing great,” Laine reports. “Smiling all the time, and always happy as can be when he’s awake. He loves when his sisters talk to him, he always gives them the biggest smiles.”

“Thanks for everyone’s continued support for our family,” she declared. “We are so grateful!”
