SEASIDE - For many, the holiday season doesn't officially start until they've visited the Butterfield Cottage for Gingerbread Tea.

The Seaside Museum and Historical Society's annual event takes place from 2 to 4 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Nov. 26 and 27, and Saturdays in December until Christmas. Harpist Mark Mathre will perform Dec. 18.

Refreshments at the cottage include gingerbread with toppings, hot spiced cider or hot chocolate. Admission is $2 for adults and $1 for children younger than 6, and includes a guided tour of the museum and cottage. Visitors can purchase raffle tickets for a drawing to be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 18.

Butterfield Cottage is located at 570 Necanicum Drive. For information, call (503) 738-7065.
