Several members of the Paws ’N Action 4-H dog club participated in the dog judging competitions at the Clatsop County Fair.

Rayann Sunnell and her dog, Anna, received a medallion for top senior, intermediate level, and qualified to participate at the state level, but did not go. The junior level winner at the county fair was Candice Kerr.

County fair winners who qualified to participate in the Oregon State Fair, and won at the intermediate level are: Celeste Kerr and her chocolate Labrador Retriever, Splash, who won red ribbons in Showmanship and Novice Obedience; and Sarah Ruscheinsky and her Rhodesian mix, Rugar, who took Top 12 Showmanship honors and a Reserve Champion in Pre-novice Obedience.

Competing at the state fair, at the senior level, was Ian Thompson and his black Labrador retriever, Kazoo, who took Top 12 Showmanship honors and a Champion in Novice Obedience.

“What great results,” said Lorna Brandt, leader of Paws ’N Action. “We are so proud of our members, and it is nice to see their hard work rewarded.”
