WARRENTON —  Summer readers gathered at Lum’s Auto Center in Warrenton Saturday for the year-end event celebrating the first countywide Summer Reading program, made possible by Libraries Rural Outreach in Clatsop County, a Library Services and Technology Act grant to provide library cards to all children in Clatsop County who want to read.

Readers from Warrenton, Seaside, Astoria, Knappa and Jewell attended a barbecue by the Lums, music by the Brownsmead Flats, and a craft area prior to the grand-prize drawings.

The prizes were three Kindles, donated by Lum’s Auto, Fred Meyer and Costco, and a box of books and a gift certificate donated by Beach Books in Seaside.
